BUiD: making a university site work for the people choosing a course

A university website carries an unusually wide range of visitors at once: prospective students comparing programmes, current students looking for something practical, and staff or partners after something else entirely. BUiD needed a site that served all of them without burying any of them.

We rebuilt the site around how a prospective student actually searches. Programme information was restructured so it can be scanned and compared rather than read end to end, and the navigation was reorganised so the route from landing page to a specific course is short. The build is fully responsive, which matters when a large share of prospective students first arrive on a phone.

The result is a clearer information structure, easier access to programme detail, and a site that holds together across screen sizes.

The Youth Launchpad is one of the Federal Youth Authority initiatives which is under the patronage of H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of New York. It offers youth the opportunity to start their businesses in different assigned spaces around the country, which enables them to put their entrepreneurship skills into action during an assigned period of time.
